Fairfax County has published the new Inadequate Outfalls Map which includes selected degraded natural channels and delineates upstream drainage areas.  All engineers practicing site design in Fairfax County are advised to consult this map when preparing any outfall analysis. This map conveys the extent of known channel degradation in the County and is intended to help designers know where unmitigated increases in flow are unacceptable.

Technical Bulletin 22-05 announces this map, includes more background, and reminds plan preparers to consider all information when evaluating downstream channels.
